Who We Are
The Toronto Chapter of the Canadian Company of Pilgrims is a community of pilgrims, whether or not they have walked the Camino yet. We host weekly events and all are welcome! Monthly Events
First Saturday of the month: Group Hike (location varies)
Second Thursday: Downtown Pilgrim Pub Night (location changing in December)
Last Wednesday: Port Credit Pilgrim Pub Night (Crooked Cue, 75 Lakeshore Road East)
Last Sunday: Camino Coffee and Conversation (Balzac’s, 789 Yonge St.)
Camino 101
Twice a year we present Camino 101. This has been taking place at MEC on Queen Street. The picture shows David Tallan at our Camino 101.
Preamble
We are hosting a Toronto Camino Preamble twice a year, in partnership with the independent group, Toronto Camino Community. A Preamble is a two-day group hike in the city, about 15 km each day. This hike gains you a Canadian Compostela that will be recognized at the Pilgrim Office in Spain. In particular, it can be used if you want to start your Camino in A Coruña, which is less than 100km from Santiago. It’s also great training to walk two long days in a row, and a way to connect with other pilgrims!
Other Events
Occasionally, we host or help with other Camino events, such as St. James Day or a film screening.
Monthly Newsletter
We send a newsletter each month with Camino news, CCoP news and Chapter events. It is sent out to members around the first of the month.
Chapter Stamp
We have our own stamp in case you would like your first stamp at home! David and Carla each have a stamp and bring it to events.
Last Minute Credential and Badge Sales
Ideally you can order your credential and badge online in advance, but if you’re leaving in less than two weeks, we may be able to arrange in-person sales. Email us with your location. Note: you must be a CCoP member ($10) to buy a credential ($5), but anyone can buy a badge (pwyc).
Volunteer Hike Leaders
If there is a hike you enjoy and would like to take a turn leading, let us know! We would like to offer group walks in different areas of the city. Ideally, the starting and ending points will be accessible by public transit.
